This is the oldest and classical brake testing method. It is braked when the axle of the car that is to be tested is placed on the electrical powered tambours.
Free friction, shimmy control and the left-right disequilibrium of each axle are measured. Despite the fact that there is more energy consumption versus platform system and front-rear balance can not be seen, it is better in terms of shimmy and free friction. This system can be used for both passenger and heavy vehicles.
